St Andrew's Family Newsletter Spring 2012

Welcome to Poppets and St. Andrews, we are a parent/grandparent/ carer group for those children aged three years old and under.   We hope that you will enjoy coming along and that you and your child will make new friends.   Poppets are a community group that started four years ago and are run by St. Andrew's church.   We care about families and believe that the purpose of our church is to serve you in the name of Jesus Christ and welcome you into his family as a beloved child of God.   At St. Andrew's we are committed to serving our community and the best way for this to happen is in partnership.

Our session runs every Friday during term time from 9.15-11.15am

Cost £1.50 and 50p for any extra child or adult.

When Sima is leading Songtime the charge will be £2.00 and 50p for any extra child or adult.
This includes tea, coffee, drinks and biscuits.

This group is a way for parents to make new friends but also for children to develop and learn through play and meeting with other children.   We operate the sessions in three rooms, one is for run around toys and soft play, one for babies and sitting toys and the dinning area for puzzles.   Every other week we have a Bible based activity.   We end every session with song time. We also look out towards our world and we raise money for a chosen children's charity each year.

Sima who is a children's party entertainer will be leading songtime once a month from 10am-10.45am.   On these days we have had to increase the charges to cover costs.

We are a very active church, we have many different things going on during the week that all are welcome to attend.   All these groups are run by volunteers.   All those who work with children are CRB checked.

What's on this Summer?

As you enter or leave Poppets please would you close the doors behind you to stop children running out of the building.  Everyone including visitors must sign in.   Please take care with the railings on the sides of the slopes at the entrances of the church as these can be dangerous if children play on them.   Thank you.
